Though it will not be a bit weird to talk about feminist agendas? For example, Naomi Wolf, American feminist and author, has no problem taking a position from which Sweden's actions around Assange can be criticized.
She has also made a list of criteria that a group or government needs to fulfill in order to turn a democratic state to a fascist. The list is as follows:
1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy
2. Create secret prisons where torture takes place
3. Develop a thug caste or paramilitary force not answerable to citizens
4. Set up an internal surveillance system
5. Harass citizens' groups
6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release
7. Target key individuals
8. Control the press
9. Treat all political dissidents as traitors
10. Suspend the rule of law
Now, do not hårddra the list, or read too much into Assange-story, but it can probably be worth glancing through the list. Some criteria may feel again, both from the state and elsewhere.
Something you can speculate on is whether Swedish Amnesty and others had previously expected JA as "one of the gang," one of the good guys, and now sees JA as a traitor because he made (by all means correct stupid) anti-feminist statements (and possibly performing offensive acts).
It is difficult not to think of how many women are beaten, raped and beaten to death in silence while the media has focused on the "creep Assange". Where is the feminist in silence!?
