Assange in Sweden: Witness
'H'
Transcript
of the eighth witness statement in the preliminary police investigation.
STOCKHOLM/LONDON
(Rixstep) — Nine witnesses were interrogated in conjunction with the
preliminary police investigation into the allegations made against Julian
Assange. Some of these interrogations were conducted by telephone and therefore
'conceptual' in nature; others took place on location and were recorded and
thereafter transcribed.
The interrogation of witness 'H' was conducted on the telephone by Mats Gehlin on 22 October 2010 (63 days after the case was filed) starting at 14:15 concluding at 14:35 - twenty minutes.
As will be seen, witness 'H' is Sofia Wilén's former boyfriend from the US.
The name of witness 'H' is fairly widespread on the Internet but there's no reason to reproduce it - not yet at any rate.
Witness 'H' was registered as living in the same flat as Sofia up to and including the time of Sofia's approach to Julian Assange even though it's believed that by then he'd moved to Karlskrona south of Stockholm where he was enrolled at the rather exclusive (and expensive) Hyper Island media/PR institute.
Witness 'H' is still registered as living at that address. But shortly after the 'intermezzo' Sofia Wilén somehow got a new flat in the same area and formally moved to the new address. As of December 2010, there are no official records at all of Sofia Wilén's whereabouts. But witness 'H' is, despite working in Karlskrona, still registered at Sofia Wilén's old Enköping address.

H said he
had a relationship with Sofia for two and one half years. They lived together
for the last year of this relationship. H said that for Sofia it was very
important they always used condoms. Partly for the risk of infection and partly
to avoid unwanted pregnancies.
H said the question of infection was a central one for Sofia and before they had sex the first time, they'd tested themselves and then read each other's test results. During the subsequent two and one half years they never had sex without a condom. This was completely unthinkable for Sofia. H said 'that was the agreement'. He said that what he knew, Sofia had never had sex with anyone without a condom.
H said he found out what happened when Sofia sent him an SMS message and asked if she could ring him. He was a little confused as they'd not had contact for several months. When Sofia rang she asked straight away what H thought of WikiLeaks and Julian Assange. He told her the WikiLeaks website seemed good.
Then Sofia said she'd been raped by Julian Assange by virtue of his initiating sex with her whilst she was asleep and not using a condom. Sofia told him she asked Assange if he was wearing anything. Assange was to have then answered 'yes - you'.
The chief interrogator asked H how Sofia reacted to this.
H said Sofia told him she'd been Shocked [sic] and not known what to do. H said that considering Sofia's determined opinion about condoms when having sex, he can imagine she was very shocked and very afraid. He knows how important it is for Sofia that condoms always be used when she's having sex.
Sofia told H that she couldn't understand how a representative of WikiLeaks who does so much good could have so little respect for another human being.
Read back and approved.
